Dear All,
This is regarding an international awareness campaign, the Prince’s Rainforest Project (PRP), supported by Serco and other FTSE 100 companies aiming at gathering public support to protect rainforests and slow down its destruction.
Often described as the ‘earth’s lungs’, the rainforests encircle the planet absorbing 15% of man made CO2 emissions; they support over 1.6 billion of the poorest people; and provide 70% of the planet’s species that have anti-cancer properties. Deforestation currently contributes 17% of greenhouse gasses directly and a further 15% indirectly as well as potentially creating an irreversible environmental disaster.
What can you do?
Participate in this campaign by registering your name on the Rainforest SOS Website www.rainforestSOS.org and sending a Rainforest SOS to the world leaders attending the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen in December 2009.
The campaign closes on October 31, 2009.
If your employees do not have access to the web, they can still show support by signing the attached Branded Sheet.
Please help by collecting signatures and send back to me before October 31.
